🥛 June is Dairy Month!
Did you know? Barren County proudly ranks #1 in dairy farming statewide.
With 20 active dairy farms milking anywhere from 200 to 1,000 cows daily, our county plays a major role in Kentucky’s dairy industry.

Support local and shop Barren County dairy products:

🧀 Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese (kennyscheese.com) available at:

And don’t forget upcoming community events like the Barren County Moo-Crew Blood Drive on June 24, and the Barren County Fair Dairy Show in July—just more ways to show your support for local dairy farmers.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: Why does the city not allow comments on social media posts?

The City of Glasgow has chosen to limit comments on our social media pages in order to maintain a respectful, inclusive space for sharing important information. While social media is a helpful tool for communication, it also presents challenges—particularly around misinformation & inappropriate content.

Rather than moderating every individual comment—which can be subjective and sometimes controversial—we’ve found that turning off comments helps ensure our messages are communicated clearly, accurately, and consistently.

That doesn’t mean we don’t want to hear from you. In fact, we welcome questions and feedback through more direct channels where meaningful conversation can happen. Residents are encouraged to reach out by phone, email, or through the City’s website to connect with the appropriate person and receive a timely response.

We’re here to serve—and we want every voice to be heard in a space where respectful, thoughtful dialogue can truly happen.

The City also follows clear social media and public record guidelines & laws set by the state of Kentucky:

You can also contact your City Council members directly—they are accessible and committed to listening. Their contact information is available HERE.

Our goal is simple: to keep the community informed in a way that is respectful, transparent, and compliant with the law.

If anyone has a question, comment or concern, call us 270-651-5131 or email me, the
Mayor or any council member! We will get the answer and respond.
