The City of Glasgow is proud to welcome Jason Botts as the new Assistant Fire Chief of the Glasgow Fire Department. With years of dedicated service to the community, Botts steps into this role equipped with extensive experience and a strong commitment to ensuring safety and preparedness.
Botts’ journey into firefighting began during his time in the U.S. Navy. Following his military service, he applied to join the Glasgow Fire Department, where he was proudly offered a position. Since then, Botts has committed himself to protecting Glasgow’s residents with skill, dedication, and heart.
“The thing that keeps me passionate about the job is the fact that you get to help others in a time of need, and the fact that no days are ever the same,” Botts explained. His ability to thrive in unpredictable situations has served the department well, and now he’s eager to take on this new leadership role.
As Assistant Chief, Botts’ top priority is ensuring the department’s equipment remains in optimal condition.
“My focus is making sure that maintenance is both effective and efficient — not only for the guys on shift but also for the community, because in the end, it’s their equipment,” Botts shared. His dedication to readiness and safety highlights his commitment to ensuring Glasgow’s fire department is always prepared to answer the call.
Having spent years working alongside his fellow firefighters, Botts knows that teamwork is the foundation of successful emergency response. Reflecting on his experiences, he said,
“Any time we go to a fire, it involves a great deal of teamwork because the whole shift is there.” Botts’ leadership style emphasizes collaboration, respect, and dedication to the safety of both his team and the community.
