Citizen Access to Public Records

Citizens may inspect and obtain copies of City of Glasgow public records in accordance with the Kentucky Open Records Act, as provided in the Kentucky Revised Statutes.

How to Submit a Public Records Request

As a citizen, it is your responsibility to:

  • Submit your request in writing or complete a Public Records Inspection Application

  • Use the appropriate form, available at the links below:

  • File completed forms with the Office of the City Clerk

 

What to Expect After Submitting a Request

  • The City will respond within five (5) business days, excluding holidays

  • Requests received after 4:00 p.m. are considered received on the next business day

  • Most records will be made available for inspection

  • Copies may be provided for a per-page fee

  • Requests for commercial purposes may involve additional costs

  • If necessary, the City may:

    • Request additional time to fulfill the request, or

    • Deny all or part of the request, as allowed by law

The City’s Responsibility

The City of Glasgow is committed to transparency and accountability and will:

  • Receive and process Open Records requests in accordance with Kentucky law

  • Provide records, request extensions, or issue denials within the required five-business-day timeframe
